2016-present — Design and product strategy, dev team management, product management, user research, UI/UX, prototyping, copywriting, visual QA
As Director of User Experience at data.world, I am responsible for the design, delivery, and user research surrounding every feature we ship at data.world.
I work across all three engineering teams and spend most of my time working on the most technical features of the product. Based on six months of user research, I co-concepted data projects and recently spearheaded on the workspace to alleviate the pain points in traditionally grueling tasks like understanding and exploring data, annotating, and querying it. This came with a steep learning curve in data science best practices, data wrangling, master data management, SQL, semantic web technologies, and understanding a number of third-party data tools like Python, R, Trifacta, and OpenRefine.
In addition to the technical leveling up I've done at data.world, I've been very involved in outreach with open data organizations like Data for Democracy and helped define and operationalize a workshop program to introduce data.world to a professional audience.
Things move super quickly over here so it's impossible to keep up with accurate screenshots. To learn more about my work at data.world, just ask, or check out the live product (it's free to sign up).
